Actuator does not work. In contact with a company that communicates with flexsteel.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Contact was made in December 2020 with this company representative. They were to order my part. My last communication they stated 6 to 8 more weeks. It's been over two months. The warranty on flexsteel sucks. My recliner is just over 2 years now.

Terrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I ordered a sofa and two ottomans in January. The delivery date has moved from 2/5/21 to 2/15 to 3/5 to 3/15 to 4/5 to 412! REALLY? I called Hudson's about the change to 4/5 who contacted your Sales Rep, and it was GUARANTEED to be in 4/5! GUARANTEED! You make a nice product but dealing with you is not worth it. I bought it for my kid, and she has had NO FURNITURE for this amount of time! Your service is terrible and you're liars. Never Again!!!!!

Cancel your order. You are going to be disappointed after a few months of using the furniture. It breaks down quickly!

Flexsteel furniture self destructs within a couple of years

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Flexsteel Industries - Flexsteel furniture self destructs within a couple of years

I purchased a Flexsteel sofa and recliner in 2014 and the salesman talked us into Nuvo Leather upholstery. He swore it would last better than leather.

Well within a few years the Nuvo Leather began to peel and now six years later it has become so bad I am embarrassed to have guests see it, let alone sit on it. I don't even consider it to be in good enough condition to donate. Consequently, it is out at the curb waiting for trash day. Apparently, Flexsteel knows it won't last, so they only offer a one-year warranty on the upholstery.

I mailed the CEO Jerald Dittmer, expressing my dissatisfaction with his product asking for and expecting nothing other than the usual form letter of apology and I did not even receive that.

I happen to have a Drexel sofa and three pieces from Leather Craft which were purchased in the 1980s. These pieces have held up remarkably well while I watched the Flexsteel pieces self-destruct.

If you don't mind spending good money for furniture that is essentially disposable, then by all means shop Flexsteel. If you want to buy something that will maybe last longer than a few years, then shop another brand.

Is it True Leather or Fake Leather? Was product soaked for saturated color or Was it just sprayed on?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased a Flexsteel Club Chair and Ottoman. I am happy with comfort of product BUT color of so called leather rubs right off. Wiping off anything with just a damp cloth removes color. Cleaning with Leather Cleaner same thing happens. I have other leather furniture pieces, one is over 40 yrs. (Scandia Designs) and other is 16 yrs. Each item has been well used and neither show any sign of color loss. This brings me to conclusion product having been made in CHINA, done poorly. American companies make a profit shipping products all over world for CHEAP labor and sell products at high prices by false advertisements. Next furniture shopping trip with be back to Scandia Designs.

Chair that does not work

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My power recliner has not operated since May(at least) of 2000. I have tried repeatedly to get it fixed with phone calls to the dealer I bought it from and FlexSteel headquarters with the same sad story, the COVID has delayed everything. I just quite simply want my chair to work.

Warranty Parts

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased (2) Zoey Flexsteel Ind. power glider recliners in Feb. 2019. October 2020 (1) chair stop reclining. Furniture center sent out a repair person to find out the problem. Finding were that the Kaidi linear actuator was bad and was told they ordered the part from Flexsteel Ind. I check of the status of my warranty part today and was told the furniture retailer is still waiting on part. Over 4 month. I can go on-line to JM parts and have it here by Friday 2/26/21. NOT HAPPY with customer service. Paid $1,600 each.

Battery issues

We purchased a sofa and loveseat from raymour and Flanagan a flex steel brand. We bought the power pieces with batteries so we wouldn't have to have cords going across the floor of our new room. We paid over $5200 for a sofa love seat and three tables. The first time we tried to recharge the battery on the sofa we couldn't it was plugged in for over 36 hours and the light never showed green ssamevwith the loveseat

Furniture is ripping apart

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After about 3 weeks the fabric started ripping and pilling. Had somebody come fix it/ sewed it and then handed me stuffing in case I needed it. This stuff is awful do not buy into it. Yeah the frame is great but the rest of it is unacceptable. I would never recommend this furniture to anyone. it's way too expensive for what it actually is.

Spring failure

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Purchased a flexsteel recliner at NFM in Kansas City Kansas in 2014. Turns out since I bought it on sale the lifetime warranty doesnt apply.

A spring broke recently that was part of the foot rest extender. Also found out the mechanism was made in China! No wonder it broke. Failure rate on Chinese crap is extremely high.

Called flexsteel, they said I had to go back to the original dealer (90 miles away). They wouldnt sell or provide the part to me!

NFM in kc (Jason) took on the problem. A week later I get a call from area code 402, the message left was mostly unintelligible.

After many holds I was finally able to get a customer rep. After 35 minutes on the phone I was asked to be put on hold again.

I asked if they could call me back when they had placed the order. This Chinese 5 1/4 spring is going to cost me $14.00 plus $8.00 ups.

Why cant it be mailed for less than $3.00? So far Ive got more than an hour invested in phone calls and aggravation.

Because of flexsteels pursuit of cheapest parts for maximum profits they have permanently tarnished their formerly good reputation.

Poor Quality

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased a formal dining room set (Plymouth). It has been set at less than 10 times. Screws have come out of multiple chairs and washers loose at table legs. One chair the cross brace in the leg is broken and not from someone sitting in it, or I would have known when it happened. I am scared for someone to even vacuum the floors below it because if they push chairs in, and they bump the table the paint chips off. I thought this would be a piece of furniture I could pass to my daughter someday, but I will be lucky to sell on Facebook for a few hundred dollars.

Lack of quality.

I purchased Flexsteel Latitudes Collection reclining sofa and loveseat less than three years ago. There are only two people in the house and both are over sixty-five years of age. We are not hard on furniture. My complaint is that the dye is coming off of the leather. This is a total piece of junk.

After less than a year our "Navu leather" saddle style couch (we thought leather meant leather which it is not) started to scale.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Our new couch of "Navu leather" started to scale and peel after less than a years use in our weekend home. First we did think this was leather--WRONG, just a covering. Contacted the store, they gave us the song---this is normal wear. Don't think, scaling started in the arm, headrest and seat areas. Was told these are wear areas--well where are you to sit, rest your head or put your arm? ? ? Store said they would contact the company . . . waiting, waiting. On another note FLEXSTEEL really puts the store in a bad position to sell this inferior product without apparent recourse. After researching this has been a customer complaint for many years, yet they continue to sell this covering. We don't spent $2000 yearly on new couches! ! !

We purchased a Flexsteel couch with recliners on the ends and a matching chair for our lake house, which is only occupied by the two of us (both over 60 yrs. old) for 5 months each year.

This is the 3rd summer of use. Last year, the couch was starting to look bad as the "leather" was wearing off. We paid quite a bit for these pieces from a leading furniture store, Nebraska Furniture Mart. NFM says they couldn't do anything as the 1 yr.

warranty on the upholstery was up. I sent them photos. They didn't care. I sent photos to Flexsteel also; they simply referred us back to NFM.

NFM saw a dog hair on the couch photo and said that the leather failure is due to us letting the dog on the furniture! We have had much "cheaper and lesser quality" leather furniture with 2 dogs who slept on it that has lasted years and years with continual use. They claimed dogs fur is 10x more oily than humans, and that is why the leather is not functioning properly! What bull!

NFM decided to send us "covers" for the end pieces of this 3 section sofa, that we could put over the defective parts to cover it up~! Well, gee, the middle section looks like junk too, and I bet the covers will look really very professional! We have had Flexsteel furniture in the past, and it used to be quality stuff. Now it is merely JUNK!

3 summers in (so 1-1/2 yrs. use) and we need a new couch.

I want my money back so I can purchase a new couch, definitely not another FLEXSTEEL! Do not buy!
