We bought a power leather recliner sofa and love seat 4 years ago, we were told by the sales person it was "TOP OF THE LINE" I noticed a few months back that the side of the cushions were splitting and pealing. I did some research on the net and discovered that some Flexsteel products are made in CHINA.

I looked at the tags and sure enough this crap is made in CHINA. I went back and complained at the store where we bought it and they said we were past the one year warranty!!!

Never again!!! We've had other sofas from Berkline and they lasted close to 20 years and we had dogs and kids!!!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $3500.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I have same problem with cracking, but also leather is wearing off. Only 4 years old.

I have a flex steel recliner for over 14 years and still in perfect condition. My sofa was probably made in China too.

Contacted Flex Steel and they told me leather fading is normal; can be caused by hair products, lotions or even medications! What a bunch of crap!

Was considering latitudes collection until i read "made in China" and all the bad reviews. Trying to find a high quality recling leather sofa made in America...hard to do.

I thought Flexsteel has a limited lifetime warranty against defects. Are they claiming it was "normal wear and tear"?I bought a sectional a few years ago. How can I tell where it was made?

Same .. we bought the latitudes power 3 piece set and it is falling apart after 2.5 years ....

power is broke at couch end with splinters falling out before that , cushioning flat , cannot hardly get out of recliner.... generic china junk...wish we could be compensated, we bought this thinking it would be our last set

Its funny how all of these reviews about Flexsteel are Bad reviews.. Flexsteel is the BEST motion line available anywhere..

Sure there are some bad ones out there, when you sell over $250 million a year in product there's going to be a few problems.. If the store that you purchased it from won't help you out then its their fault, and yours for purchasing from them.

You don't see the billions of happy customers writing reviews.. only the .01% that had a problem that they couldn't get fixed.

Well I will add to this then. I had several flex steel pieces.

All leather and the leather peeled after 4 months on the recliner and love seat. Got a second set... Did the same. Questioned the owner as to why this was occurring.

All he could say was very cheap leather. Don't get me wrong...

It is the most comfortable furniture I have ever owned... But why cut the corners.

I bought Flexsteel as well and I can tell you the made in China sofas are pure CRAP. Leather color came off in less than 2 years and at 4 years cracked and split wide open on leather creases in back and seat.

Of course the vinyl sides peeled after a little over a year. Its pure junk. and to try to defend their inferior products is a total joke. As far as limited lifetime warranty..

LOL may be true if its REAL American flexsteel but 1 year on the made in China CRAP. Not sure if I mentioned it but the Flexsteel products made in China is CRAP. be sure to check on the country its made in.. I have also heard they are having sofas made in Mexico too..

not sure how that product is, but China makes CRAP and don't kid yourself thinking they don't. Maybe they will start making cars so that Renault/Fiat will have at least one car maker worse than them. One last thought on the sofa.

Why would they make the leather so thin? I can understand using food coloring instead of dye.I don't understand 1/32" leather.
